Free clinic software: what to check
Check what is free, for how long, and whether it covers the work your clinic needs.
In this guide

Find out what “free” means
Read the scope and terms first. Tools you already have, a free plan and a time-limited trial are different offers.
- Tools you already have
A spreadsheet in Excel or Google Sheets, or conversations in LINE, for example.
Check the account’s licence, the work it supports and how your team shares updates.- Free plan
If a provider uses this term, check which parts continue without a subscription fee.
Confirm duration, users, functions and any chargeable items in the actual terms.- Free trial
Try the stated scope for a stated period before choosing paid use.
Check what is included, whether a card is needed and what happens when it ends.
Check the work you can actually complete
Avoid assuming every free tool lacks history or access controls. Check the service, account and files you would actually use.
Who can view or change data?
Test the reception and administrator roles. Check what each person can see and change.
What happens after an incorrect edit?
Check the service’s edit history, restore options, backups and support process.
Do appointments and documents fit?
Create and move an appointment, check service duration and inspect the receipts or documents you need. Evaluate clinical work against its separately stated scope.
What can you take out?
Ask which records can be exported, in what format and on what terms. Do not assume every record can be moved immediately.
Try a workflow while keeping existing records
A clinic using paper or an existing clinical system can start by testing business tools. It does not need to move all clinical work at once.
Fictional example · Test with sample data
The doctor keeps clinical records in the current system. Reception tries appointments and sales in AnyCura.
Before the visit
Add a basic patient profile and appointment. Check the date, time, service and person taking the appointment.
During the visit
The doctor uses the existing clinical system or paper records, following the clinic’s current process.
After the visit
Record the sale, issue a receipt, check the report and arrange the next appointment.
Using tools alongside each other does not mean automatic integration. For data import, ask the team to confirm scope, file formats and steps first.
See business and clinical scope in the clinic software overview.
What can you try with AnyCura?

Appointments, basic patient profiles, sales, receipts, general retail stock and reports.
Choose a paid AnyCura Partners subscription if you want to continue.- See clinical work in a demoChoose around your clinic’s work
View medical records, prescriptions, medical certificates or dental charting with the team.
Medical and Dental Clinic software are optional monthly additions, chosen for the work and relevant licence. Available after licence verification and your first AnyCura Partners payment.
Ask the team to coordinate a product-use discussion with a practising doctor or dentist who is a Medical Advisor.
Start with a small task you can check
Use fictional sample data to try the steps with your team. Then confirm the setup scope and data you need to prepare.
Define one service
Set its name, duration, price and appointment hours, then try the work from start to finish.
Give each account a role
Distinguish people enabled for their own appointments from accounts managing the work. Check the permissions for each role.
Agree how to keep existing records
List what stays in the current system, who records it and what must be confirmed before an import or use of real data.
Decide from the work your team needs
Record what worked, what still needs your existing process and what continuing use would cost. If your current tools cover the work, choose when there is a clear reason to change.
To continue AnyCura after the trial, check pricing for doctors enabled for their own calendar appointments, rather than the whole roster or appointments actually received. Select only the optional tools you need.
Check the terms and your own total in the pricing calculator.

Do online spreadsheets lack history or access controls?
Do not assume this for every service. Google Sheets has version history, and Drive provides view, comment or edit roles. Check the capabilities and settings of the account you would use.
Must we replace our clinical records or move all data first?
No. Try business tools while keeping clinical records in your current system or on paper. Coexistence does not mean automatic integration or import. Confirm the actual scope and import steps with the team first.
